On March 19, 2026, an insightful lecture was held at Vilnius University, offering a unique perspective on Chinese history by approaching it as a study of leadership and management.

Emperors were analyzed as “CEOs” who governed complex political and social systems, developed strategies, appointed talent, and ultimately bore responsibility for success or failure.

Drawing on carefully selected rulers from different historical periods, the lecture explored key aspects of leadership, including strategic thinking, adaptability, talent management, and the consequences of decision-making. It highlighted how even forward-thinking ideas may fail if they are not aligned with their historical context or properly implemented.

This interdisciplinary approach encouraged participants to see history not merely as a record of the past, but as a relevant and practical source of insights for contemporary leadership, business, and organizational governance.

The lecture was delivered by Yufei Wang, a business expert and lecturer at the Vilnius University Business School. He has extensive international experience across China, the United States, and Europe, and his research focuses on culture, consumer behavior, and sustainability.
