The VU Confucius Institute organizes Saturday Chinese language classes for children up to 12 years. Child development specialists are unanimous in agreeing that it is beneficial for a child to learn foreign languages in addition to their mother tongue as early as possible.
According to these specialists, early learning of a foreign language can help a child to master it almost perfectly later on in life. After all, pre-school and elementary school-age children learn and process information very well, so learning Chinese can be a great brain exercise for them. If possible, we organize additional Chinese painting and calligraphy lessons for children at our institute, and we invite children to communicate live with Chinese-speaking teachers in day camps.
Due to the pandemic situation, online and offline courses are planned to be held in the autumn trimester of 2021:
- Beginners group, on Saturdays, 11:00 a.m. online course, instructor Deimante Jurkstaite. Register here.
- Childrens' Level 1 (Group 2), on Saturdays, start on 11th September, 9 :30 a.m., instructor Deimante Jurkstaite.
- Childrens’ Level 1 (Group 3), on Saturdays, start on 4th September, 10:00 a.m., instructor Agne Vilke.
Courses take place at the Confucius Institute of Vilnius University, M.K. Čiurlionio str. 21 (in the yard of the Institute of Geosciences of Vilnius University), on the 2nd floor, room 207.
Please note that the minimum size of the group is 4 children and if the group drops to less than 5 children during the course, the VU Confucius Institute is entitled to suspend course until the minimum group size is reached. The VU Confucius Institute does not guarantee the continuity of language teaching for the next trimester due to the drop in numbers.
If the child misses one lesson, the money for the missed lesson will not be refunded. If the child misses more than one lesson of the courses and there is an important reason for that, like a change of residence (city or country) or serious illness, the institute refunds the amount paid and unused for the course to the representative of the child( one of the parents) bank account.
