Welcome to the practical seminar ‘‘Introduction to the Massage (tuina) of Traditional Chinese Medicine‘‘.

Prof. Li Chunri is a lecturer at Liaoning Traditional Chinese Medicine University and a doctor at the university hospital who specializes in Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion therapy, the winner of many academic awards and the author of academic articles currently is working as a visiting scholar at the Slovak Medical University.

 

Assoc. Prof. Bai Zhenmin is one of the most prominent professors of the Beijing Sport University, who is well versed in Traditional Chinese Medicine and its applications to rehabilitation. Accumulated many years of experience working in Japan and Russia. Professor is an author of many academic articles and books, he is currently working at the Confucius Institute in Norway.

The seminar is designed for both medical professionals who are eager to deepen their knowledge in Traditional Chinese medicine and to all who are interested in Chinese medicine.

A description of the seminar:

Theoretical and practical lectures on Saturday:

    1.    Introduction to TCM massage (tuina).

          A.     Basic philosophy of TCM.

          B.     Meridians and acupoints.    

          C.    The concepts and features of TCM massage (tuina).

   2.     Basics of massage technology and its application.

   3.     Massage on Abdomen Combined with Respiration.

 

Practical lectures on Sunday:

  1.  Acupoint selection and compatibility in practice.

  2. Vacuum tubes and lumbar pain treatment.

  3. Gua Sha treatment and how this method is used to treat neck pain.

  4. Er dou treatment for insomnia.

 

Date and Time: on 16th - 17th (Saturday, Sunday) December at 9:00 – 12:20 and 13:30 – 16:40. Between the seminars, we are expecting to have 10 – 20 min. coffee/tea breaks. On Sunday starts at 9:30!

Place: on Saturday 9:00 – 12:20 the theoretical part of the lectures will be held in the Confucius Grand auditorium. Practical lectures (Saturday 13:30 – 16:40  and Sunday) will be held at the VU Culture Center Dance Hall (M.K. Čiurlionio St. 21, VU Faculty of Natural Sciences, III floor).

The volume of the course: 16 academic hours.

After hearing the seminar participants will be awarded the certificates.

The seminar will be held in English!

Price of the seminar: 150 eur., for students 120 eur.
